Not worth the hype
After reading all the reviews I guess I was expecting it to be magical but it left both me and my partner feeling the same as our previous 10 year old mattress

Queen version 2
We have a solid base with a firm mattress and it still seems to dip in the middle

Good service good concept
We had great service and changed firmness twice. Both of us found the bed reasonably comfortable but woke with stiff and sore back which eased after being up and mobile. Changes in firmness definitely made a difference but overall outcome is only marginally better then our last mattress.

Comfortable but not perfect if you like firm.
My wife loves the SD. Me not so much. We got the 50/50 (firm for me, medium for my wife). I like a hard bed and the firm in the SD is not firm enough. I sleep well, no body aches and I had considered getting the extra firm option. But my issue is with the top layer above the firmness adjuster. For me is too soft. Rolling over is like trying to pull yourself out of the mud. My body feels like it is dragging through the bed when I roll compared to the smooth firm surface of my old bed.

OK, but over-rated
Although this mattress is reasonably comfortable, after reading all the hype, including Choice reviews, I've found the mattress disappointing. I note that Choice never actually have someone try sleeping on the mattress. We tried all three variations - firm, medium, soft. Firm is too hard, soft is mushy and very unsupportive for the body and spine, yet medium is still quite firm. The difference between medium and soft is substantial. Also, the mattress is very heavy. Because we have our old base, which we don't want to dispose of, the corners and sides of the mattress need to be lifted slightly to ensure sheets and bed protectors are fully tucked in. This is very hard on the back as the mattress is both heavy and stiff. In the past we have slept on much more comfortable mattresses, and our previous SleepMaker was at least as comfortable when it was new (nearly 20 years ago), possibly more comfortable. It's too long ago to remember. So, why did we keep it? After getting a new mattress delivered, and the old one removed, Melbourne subsequently went into months of lockdown. Finding an alternative was simply too difficult given that we are getting a reasonable sleep on this one. Advice? Buyer beware. Once you get one of these online purchases, it's a big decision to decide to send it back and start the purchase process over again. In my view, nothing beats trying the mattress first in a shop.
