Why do we sleep?

Did you know some parts of the brain are actually more active during sleep?

At Sleeping Duck, we love a good TED video. And this one by circadian neuroscientist Russell Foster posted back in 2013 is no exception.

In a desperately sleep deprived society, sleep is not the enemy nor is it a waste of time. In this TED talk Foster, who studies the sleep cycles of the brain, explores why we sleep, how much sleep we need at different ages, and the physiological links between mental illness and sleep.
